A few words before the game :

I am very happy with the changes in the CID.

The Forsaken [0(4)]
Ice Witches [7]

I’m going first.

Deployment :

Elias Gade prey at Blighted Nyss Sorceress.
Thagrosh started with Aggravator on himself (theme benefit).
Typhon started with Dragon’s Blood on himself (theme benefit).

Kreoss cast Battle-Charged on himself + Castigate.
He also cast Inviolable Resolve on Cinerators.
Choir said Passage.
Elias Gade gave +2 movement to Cinerators.
Whole army ran.

Legion came forward and stayed outside of my charge ranges.
Ravagore shot towards left Knights and killed one of them.

End of 1st round :

Gravus ran to the flag.
Kreoss cast Castigate again.
Cinerators said Shield Wall.
Two of them came a little bit forward.
Shrine shot two times at Typhon, but without much success.
Bastions ran.

Thagrosh cast Manifest Destiny + FEAT.
Scythean charged at two Cinerators, but one of them stayed alive on 1 hp.
23 ARM is not a joke.
Ravagore shot at Gravus and killed his horse 🙁
Searph cast Slipstream and place Typhon to a better position.
Typhon charged at FoS and destroyed him.
Raek finished wounded Cinerator.
Spell Martyr ran to contest the left zone.
Shredder ran to contest the right zone.
Shepherd ran to the flag.
It is FEAT time now.
Typhon retreated to a safer place.
Raek came forward and killed “foot” Gravus 🙁

0-1 on the scenario.

End of 2nd round :

During Maintenance Phase, Shrine resurrected one Cinerator.
After Cinerator’s Vengeance attacks, Raek left on 2-3 hp.
Kreoss cast Castigate + FEAT.
He charged at Raek and finished him.
Mechanik ran to the flag.
Cinerators took care of Scythean and Nyss Sorceress.
They also Reposition + Shield Wall (mini feat).
Shrine gave Ghostly to two Bastions.
Elias Gade gave +2 movement to Bastions.
Right Knights ran to the right zone.
Bastions killed Shepherd and Shredder.
They also did a few dmg to Typhon.

2-1 on the scenario.

Thagrosh and Typhon killed few Cinerators.
Seraph and Raek did a lot of dmg to Bastions.
Unfortunately, no one was able to contest my flag.

3-1 on the scenario.

End of 3rd round :

During Maintenance Phase, Shrine resurrected three Cinerators.
On the right flank, Bastions and Seneschal took care of Raek.
One of them deal few dmg to Typhon.
Knights stayed in the right zone to score a point there.
On the left flank, Cinerators killed Typhon.
I really wanted to clear this zone, but Shredder left on 1 hp.
At least he was set on fire..
Kreoss just ran to the safe place.
Mechanik stayed b2b with his flag.

5-1 on the scenario.

Ice Witches spray few of my models.
One of them killed three wounded Bastions..
Another one came to contest my flag.
Thagrosh killed as many models as possible.
Seraph came to contest the right zone.

Still 5-1 on the scenario.

End of 4th round :

I only have to score one scenario point to win.
Elias Gade aim and shot Ice Witch in the left zone.
One survived Knight will score the last needed point there, at the end of my turn.
But.. I have not finished my turn yet.
I really wanted to get rid of Thagrosh, who caused the greatest losses in my army.
Everything that could, just started attacking him.
After first or second dmg, he spawn Harrier in the zone.
So, rest of the attacks came to Harrier to kill it.
Unfortunately, CK attempt failed 🙁
What a pity..

I won the game 6-1 on the scenario.

End of the game :

What does my opponent have to say about the game?

“At first new Protectorate CID seemed to be truly overpowered.
As our game continued we both realized that it wasn’t that obvious.
Although new models were certainly strong, they had some weaknesses and I was doing my best to exploit that with what I had.
Although I managed to avoid shooting potential of the Shrine, it payed off by resurrecting knights and giving ghost walk everywhere it was required, what in a long run spoiled my plan to play around the obstacle in the middle and divide PoM forces in half, what would give me time to deal with Cinerators first.

Defensive strike on Bastions practically prevented me from even trying to engage them.
Their ARM 16 is not enough to keep them safe from shooting though.
I need to keep that in mind in the future.
Kreos’s feat basically forced me to use my feat defensively what diminished my melee potential.
Surprisingly though, Typhoon survived being exposed to multiple autohitting weapon master attacks 😉 his animus is a thing!
Unfortunately bad choices were made during my list selection and puppet master on Ice Witches hasn’t been needed even once.
Instead of them, Black Frost Shard with Kiss and sprays plus Naga instead of 2 shredders would be a much better choice.
All in all the game was great fun – as it always is with Mateusz 😉 – and I will be looking forward to test Thagrosh2 more.”

A few words after game :

  • Kreoss.
His abilities and changed spells are great now.
In the previous version, I did not even think about playing this Caster.
But this time, it was great to play him.
  • Fire of Salvation.
+1 MAT and -1 point cost.
Do I have to write something more?
Also, the opportunity to take him with other Casters in exe theme is just great.
  • Exemplar Bastion Seneschal.
Tactician [Exemplar] – it is the most important thing.
Remember, that Shrine is also Exemplar!
  • Elias Gade.
As I said game ago, he shined with Cinerators.
I can not imagine an Exemplar theme list without him.
  • Gravus.
+1 CMD and -1 point cost.
    It’s a very good change.
With his “no kd” aura, he is a must have model in Kreoss2 list.
The only thing I miss, is the opportunity to take him as a free card.
  • Bastions.
    They are really good now.
Def Strike with such a great pow is cool.
Unfortunately, the ARM 16 makes them vulnerable to enemy shooting.
In my opinion, it is worth having something in the list, that will heal them.
    BE maybe?
  • Cinerators.
    Just WOW!
Low point cost, perfect UA with perfect mini feat.
The are able to have 23 ARM with Tough and no kd in my list.
    Nothing more to add.
  • Shrine of the Lawgiver.
Unfortunately, in this game I did not have to check this model in 100%.
My opponent cleverly avoided this model.
12 CMD and 3 souls at the start are great.
    Shrine has potential for sure.
